I am here today to speak a few words about Saraswati Puja. As we all know very well that Maa Saraswati is the goddess of learning and music.

Saraswati Puja is one of the most important festivals celebrated by Hindus and It is also one of the most popular festivals of all the students.

It is a festival of the season change. It marks the end of the winter season and the arrival of the spring season.

It is celebrated with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm. Saraswati puja is celebrated in honour of the goddess Saraswati. She has a lot of names. Some people call her vidya ki Devi Vidyadayani and some call Hanshvahini, Maa Sharda etc.

According to the Hindu calendar, It falls every year on the 5th day of Magh (Vasant Panchami) that’s why it is also called Basant Panchami.

Saraswati puja is also known as Shree Panchami or Basanta Panchami. On this day, the idol of goddess Saraswati is worshipped.

The cultural programmes are held in schools, coachings and colleges. A lot of students worship the “deity of learning” during the festival. It is believed that Vidya ki Devi maa Saraswati comes on this day and she gives us wisdom and knowledge of music and studying.
